SHOP OUTSIDE THE BOX!

“What three independently owned business owners would you miss if they disappeared? Stop in. Say hello. Pick up something that brings a smile. Your purchases are what keeps these businesses around.” This is the message of the national 3/50 Project – Saving the Brick and Mortar Businesses this nation is built on.

Bloomsday weekend is a gathering of individuals with the same mission – to make it up the hill, finish and claim success! That is the same mission of the brick and mortar businesses in our community. Shop Outside the Box in downtown Spokane is a Buy Local effort to bring like minded individuals into the fabulous small businesses in downtown Spokane, not only locals but all the visitors as well.

Shop Outside the Box encourages you to warm up for Bloomsday by walking downtown on Friday or Saturday and into the participating stores. The Map to all participating stores can be found on NoseyParker.net/INW for download or just check out which stores are participating and pick one up while you are there. Shop Outside the Box also encourages the community to “Tell Your Story”. Nosey Parker and Buy Local would like to know your favorite shopping story. Do you know a terrific salesperson? Community Give-Back? Above and beyond service? Go to NoseyParker.net/INW and tell your story. The best stories will be posted on NoseyParker.net/INW, Facebook NoseyParkerINW and Twitter NoseyParkerINW.

WANT TO SPARTY?

I have toured a lot of spas lately in the Inland Northwest. They seem to be popping up everywhere, which is surprising considering the current economy. However, taking care of yourself should not be seen as a luxury, but as a necessity to staying healthy and balanced. Coming across Urbanna has been a delight! They have the most well rounded offering of services in the area. They do it all and the facility is off the charts. Going Green has never been so luxurious. The spa is eco-friendly and the salon offers an array of nurturing services and treatments. Urbanna is the first and only multi-space facility in the Inland Northwest to carry Davine’s, a 100% eco-friendly line of hair products that are fabulous as well as aromatic.

Check out the website – URBANNA – and go through a menu that includes Massage Montage, Urban Hair Spa, Facial Collection, Nail Gallery, Beautification Station, and Waxology. I love the makeup line – Youngblood – that they carry. Young Blood mineral cosmetics are made with micronized, highly reflective crystals. Mineral cosmetics reflect light to smooth fine lines and blemishes. Young Blood is made with natural pigments from the earth and contain no petroleum dyes.

URBANNA is located in a historic building, built in 1908. The Pine Creek Creamery building is a good example of early commercial / industrial brick masonry blocks that were built throughout east downtown Spokane Washington during the early 1900’s. The entire building, inside and out, lends itself to the essence that is URBANNA. Linda has worked with every aspect of the building to enhance your experience.

Have you heard of SPARTIES? For your next Girl’s Night Out, do it at URBANNA. They offer an array of different packages with pricing for every budget. Call 509-747-7076 for information and to book your Sparty today!! (and invite Nosey Parker!)

One of the most informative articles I’ve read on URBANNA was contributed by Salon Services NW. Check it out: URBANNA ARTICLE. Great pictures of the inside of Urbanna as well.
