BECAUSE EVERYBODY NEEDS A LITTLE OLIVE OIL!

One of my favorite stores in all of the Inland Northwest since I moved here in 2007 is The Coeur d’Alene Olive Oil Company.  In fact, the first year I was here, that is what everyone in my family in other states received for Christmas.  They boxed up three flavors in a quaint crate with red shredded paper and mailed them for me.  It was not only convenient but the gift was very well received and loved.  The shop has new owners now and they are thrilled to continue offering all of the oils and vinegars that have made this product a fave.  One of my most favorite services is the refill of bottles.  Just bring yours back and they fill them right up!  I have been on so many wine tastings, but did you know you can taste olive oil somewhat in the same way.  The lemon is my favorite, followed by blood orange.  Combine those with the vinegars and you will have quite the smooth, rich sensation in your mouth.

What A Release … Marvelous 2008 Merlot!

At Latah Creek Cellars the release of their Marvelous 2008 Merlot is cause for celebration and just in time for the holiday’s! The release of the Latah Creek Winery 2008 Merlot marks the end of an era.  The Merlot grapes still grown on the Wahluke Slope from Pheasant Hill Vineyards are from a smaller crop creating a much more intense Merlot.  The 2008 is more mouth filling with loads of berry-like characters. The wine will develop marvelously the next 5 to 10 yrs. We are excited to share it with you!  Please come in and sample today!  If you haven’t been to the Latah Gift Shop, you are missing out. Fabulous food items, kitchen accessories, stocking stuffers and so much more. Nosey Parker loves the custom wine labels! Oops, now everyone knows what they are getting for Christmas! They are fabulous! Latah is open 7 days a week 9 TO 5. Latah sells Nosey Parker Guidebooks and mention that you are an owner of a Nosey Parker guidebook with your membership card, you are entitled to 10% off everyday!

TinRoofWebAd1If you haven’t heard of Tin Roof Furniture, then frankly, you have been under a rock.  That is okay though because Nosey Parker is here to bring you into the fold.  Nosey Parker loves extraordinary shopping experiences, not only from the atmostphere of a store but just having fun too.  This is the motto at Tin Roof.  In fact, the very first billboard I  noticed in Spokane was a fabulous couch.  That’s all it was … a fabulous couch.  Being new in town, I wanted to go to a store that had THAT fabulous couch.  I didn’t need a couch but I knew if the store had a billboard like that, then ALL my other needs would be met.  Tin Roof has been around a long time and is in the industrial area of Sprague just before Downtown.  With functional and affordable home furnishings, friendly, knowledgable and helpful sales associates – Tin Roof has earned ALL of their accolades.  It IS a relaxing environment, yet upscale boutique setting.

My fabulous finds at Tin Roof:

IMG_8369I had a wine barrel I bought at a fundraiser.  My downstairs did not have a bar like my previous house, so I wanted to do something with my barstools too.  Heading to Tin Roof, I knew exactly what I was going to do when I walked in the door.  All along the staircase were wrought iron clocks.  Bought a huge one, put a glass on top, put that on top of the wine barrel and walla!  Instant place to play games or have a glass of wine!

IMG_8371I had been sleeping on a queen size antique bed from France for years and really wanted a king with fabulous bedding.  This is the beautiful black four poster I got for a FABULOUS price at Tin Roof.

“Best way to clear the air is to have it all out in the open.” – Atticus Finch

atticusHave you been to the new Atticus store next to Boo Radley’s?  It was 4 Seasons Coffee and the coffee shop/coffee & tea availability is still intact.  However, the store is different.  Who doesn’t know Atticus Finch, the fictional character in Harper Lee‘s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel To Kill a Mockingbird. Atticus is a central character in the novel.  You will find mockingbirds all over the store.  I loved it.  Also, lots of fun stuff to pick up, like the ceramic coffee cup that looks like a disposable one – so green!  The lid is rubber.  I collect finches myself and found quite a few.  In fact, on my desk burning right now is a Vintage Peony hand poured candle with different types of birds, a bag of Chocolate covered cranberries and a card that says “I wanted to do something, anything, but I didn’t know what to do.  So I did this.  This is my something. By Jason Watt.”  My motto!  The fresh ground Kahlua Coffee I made this morning was delightful as well.  Check them out at:
